An Open Letter to Netflix

Dear Netflix,

You have lost our trust.

We have given you our time, money, and loyalty for many years. You were, by far, the best option for movie rentals and viewing in the market. Your online-streaming services are killer. Your DVD-by-mail service is even better. And best of all, your prices were competitive – almost always cheaper than your competition.

Until now.

It’s absolutely unacceptable for you to treat your loyal customers this way. We are in one of the worst recessions in recent history, with unemployment ratesĀ approachingĀ 10%, and yet you do this to us? Unbelievable. We understand that you’re a company trying to make money, but a 60% price increase overnight? Entirely unfair.

As of now, we are boycotting your services. If you respond to this letter as any company should – by listening to what your customers want and attempting to meet their requests, this site will be taken down and this letter deleted. We are not trying to stain the Netflix name or brand, we are simply attempting to get what we deserve: fair & consistent pricing for your services.
